We decided to throw in a round of high-resolution 16-bit benchmark scores for readers to look through, mainly to gauge the performance hit that the cards take when they transition upwards from 16 to 32bpp.
Interestingly, the Creative Labs GeForce 256 card managed to outpace the MAXX card in the OpenGL 16-bit tests (Quake3Test and Quake2) but lost to the MAXX in the Direct3D Expendable test.
Both the GeForce256 and the MAXX cards destroyed the TNT2 Ultra powered Viper770 in each of the tests, again fill-rate improvements in the former two provide the horsepower to run past the older Viper770.
