PGC had its share of problems, namely that no hardware vendor wanted to risk the development costs associated with bringing the software drivers to a final level of development across a variety of platforms.
Also, the load balancing between the two cards rendering the two halves of the image could shift as far from an equal 50/50 to a lopsided 70/30 under certain circumstances, with one card doing a disproportionate amount of the workload compared to the other.
Eventually the PC system integrator known as Alienware purchased the driverset from Metabyte with the intention of marketing their own PGC versions of dual Voodoo3 and dual TNT2 cards within their game orientated PC lineup.
Unfortunately the software development times dragged on at Alienware, and they soon realized that the pending next-generation of video cards would offer PGC-esque levels of performance for a lower price tag, and they thus discontinued the project in late July.
